His decision on the nature of the ghost’s intention is prolonged further by his melancholy. Based on Claudius’s reaction Hamlet believes the ghost was truthful in his story, but still Hamlet delays due to his melancholy. Hamlet, due to the fact that the ghost was telling the truth and he was ordered to kill a villain, Hamlet eventually comes to the conclusion that Hamlet’s spirit is one of good nature shown by his reaction to King Hamlet’s appearance in his mother’s chambers, â€Å"Save me and hover o’er me with your wings, you heavenly guards†(3. . 105-106). In the Wood Cut Hamlet (Fig. 1), Hamlet displays his greatest act of melancholy. â€Å"Hamlets visage is grim. He clutches a sword with three impaled bodies†(Thompkins) but demonstrates an expression of indecision. â€Å"The idea of murder was alien to [Hamlet’s] disposition†(Thompkins), but now even a fter he has killed Claudius, Polonius, and indirectly, Ophelia, he still is unsure of his course of action. And standing ominous over Hamlet’s shoulder is King Hamlet, the catalyst of this tragedy. His visit to Hamlet caused this carnage. Hamlet struggles throughout the play to obey his father’s words and â€Å"taint not the mind†(1. 5. 85). Although Hamlet may believe his is doing as directed he destroys any relationships he had with his mother and Ophelia and he destroys the lives of Laerates and Polonius. In the wake of Hamlet’s dark and simmering rage he does not only taint his mind but also his very soul.

Bleeding or oozing of sap from a tree, although not normal, wont necessarily permanently harm a tree or woody plant; most of them will survive. Its also important to remember that there are many causes for free-running sap from trees, including insect borers, cankers, bark injury, and a variety of diseases. Controlling these sources of damage will control gum deposits and sap flow, but there usually is no cure. Causes Gum exuding from cherry, peach, and sweetgum trees is common, so keep an eye on these species. Gummosis isnt a pathogen in itself but the response to environmental stress from pathogenic, insect, or mechanical injury. Pathogenic infectious diseases and cankers that result in bleeding sap can become problematic in fruit orchards. Particularly, the cytospora canker, or perennial canker, commonly causes fungal bleeding in stone fruited trees such as apricot, cherry, peach, and plum. This infection can be distinguished from insect damage and mechanical injuries because sawdust or pieces of bark arent mixed in the sap, as would be the case with insect or mechanical damage. It isnt vital for you to identify the specific cause or causes involved, but its very important to differentiate between insect infestation, mechanical injury, and infectious disease for diagnosis. Interpersonal communication is the process of sending and receiving information between two or more people. Lefebvre (2008) advises that when speaking, one must also be aware of body language and tone and inflection of voice. She notes that different ideas may be conveyed by simply emphasising different parts of the statement. Being an active listener helps one understand the message being relayed to him. As the listener, one should hold his response until the speaker is done, and keenly observe nonverbal cues expressed. It must always be rem embered that communication is a give and take process. One must learn to wait his turn to be the speaker and the listener (Lefebvre, 2008). This is one important key in effective communication. Although currently, there are many available forms of communication, this essay will be limited to the discussion of face to face interpersonal communication, most especially in the context of the early years environment. It will draw specific, practical examples from the practitioner’s experiences in placement. Verbal communication or speaking out to another person is often accompanied by non-verbal language which includes facial expressions, gestures, posture, body language and tone of voice. Sometimes, such non-verbal expressions say more than the verbalizations of a person. Whereas verbal language must be delivered clearly for it to be understood, it is much more difficult with non-verbal language (Lee, 2008). With verbal language, most of the time, the verbalization is thought out first, before a person releases it. However, with non-verbal language, it naturally comes out, even without thinking. Hence, the non-verbal communication can sometimes betray what a person says when his actions are not compatible with his words. Usually, this is where miscommunication occurs (LeFebvre, 2008). An individual’s communication skills reflects his emotional intelligence. Goleman (1998) defines emotional intelligence as one’s capacity for recognising one’s own feelings and those others, to be able to motivate oneself and manage emotions well for one’s sake as well as for his relationship with others. This means that if one knows how he will react to a certain situation, he will be able to manage his communication style better and be able to send his message across effectively. Thus, it is essential that a practitioner becomes emotionally intelligent in dealing with various situations in placement in order to establish and maintain harmonious in terpersonal communication (Goleman, 2006). How to Improve Shakespeare’s Tempest  Mr. William Shakespeare, I am going to get right down to business. I am writing to you regarding our recent collaboration on The Tempest. In my opinion I think we need to make a couple of changes. The first is in regards to Caliban and the second has to do with Prospero.         As I was reading the section of the play where Caliban takes Stephano as his master I began to think about how he should be wiser by now. As is Caliban begs a drunken Stephano to be his master. In my opinion Caliban should show development by not drinking and possibly taking advantage of the drunk Stephano and Trinculo. It should develop in this fashion:         Caliban:     I believe that I can assist you in your stay on the island.         Stephano:     What mean you beast?         Caliban:             I prithee, let me bring thee where crabs grow,                    And I with my long nails will dig thee pignuts,                    Show thee a jay's nest, and instruct thee how                    To snare the nimble marmoset. I'll bring thee                    To clustering filberts, and I'll teach thee to get                    Young scamels from the rock. Does't though attend me?      Stephano:     I do. For all this service what want'st you in return.      Caliban:      I ask but one simple service. The death of my tyrant                    master.      Stephano:     You ask me to murder for you?      Caliban:      I ask only that you remove your only opponent in making                    me your vassal.      Stephano:     Well bargain'd for a monster such as thee. I shall                    consider it.  If the scene is run in this way Caliban is developed as more human and less monster. Also it adds more urgency to the possible danger Stephano and Trinculo bring, but the comic aspect remains because the two are drunk.         My second suggestion addresses the issues of Prospero and tempests. At the end of the play there is the opportunity for great suspense. The interaction between Prospero and his brother and conspirator could be much more intense. You could easily create an internal conflict for Prospero where he debates whether or not to take action against Antonio. Of course he cannot have given up his powers at this point. Instead of just letting Antonio alone Prospero could use his magic to give him pains, make him small or one of many other whimsical tricks to teach Antonio a lesson; I think that causing Antonio to sleep and in turn not taking him home would be the most fitting punishment.
